“Jeanne - ology”
“Octogenarian” was another word –
But suddenly – she can’t be! – it’s really absurd!
Wasn’t it just yesterday we did “Spirit of ‘76” ?
It’s hard to believe, we’re no longer Spring Chicks!
Jeanne Weaver turns 80 this year –
And she’s just beginning to get it in gear!
She raised three children then worked for awhile –
Next an antique shop owner was more her style.
Then she wanted more free time to do other things –
Shopping for antiques and the pleasure it brings.
Brimfield, Springfield, shops, malls and shows,
But Pennsylvania’s antiques was the favorite she chose!
Genealogy – a big part of her life…
A loving grandmother, mother and wife.
A trailer home in Florida for a long winter’s rest –
Shells and sharks’ teeth to add to the quest!
Lancaster County, come April and September –
She has kept a journal – there’s much to remember!
My mention of “bo-ficals”- a ‘senior moment’ of mine
Kept us in stitches without any wine!
There’ve been so many “laughs”-we could write a book!
For other antiquers to take a look.
Remember – they say “if you sit, you rust” –
But no…there goes Jeanne in a cloud of dust!
To you, my best wishes on July 10 –
And a great big thank-you for being my friend !
May our travels continue with nary a hitch –
This aging process … is really a “BITCH” !!
(For my dear friend, Jeanne Weaver, on her
80th birthday)
